It's been a year since the cataclysmic events of Mythic Descent for Raditz and Goku and Vegeta--which means if you haven't read the earlier stories in this series, particularly Raditz's Return and Mythic Descent, you ought to. Otherwise, this story won't make a whole lot of sense. And yes, this story takes place at the same time as parts of Yamucha's Student.
